I don't know why but I've never liked the way I looked. I've been offered things like modeling jobs and everyone says that I'm beauitful, but I don't really feel that way. And ever since I was little I've wanted blond hair and blue eyes... Is there any way to make myself feel better? I think all my problems started when I was little and my grandma tried to give me a doll with black hair and brown eyes and I told her I wanted a blond barbie doll because it was prettier... Thoughts? I have brown hair, brown eyes, and bronze skin.

Girl, all I can say is Rock that Body! I have the same everything... brunette with bronze skin. No blond hair and blue eyes is not prettier at all! That is what the media/ magazines is throwing out right now, skinny anorexic girls with bleach fake blond hair! Ew no! Look at Jessica Alba, Beyonce (like you said),... I could go on there is soo many! LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE! Curves are way more sexy then a guy shape! A lot of young girls have confidence issues, and it's okay. I still have issues and I'm 20. It comes and goes, but just always love yourself. You could always test out what it's like to have blonde hair. I've done this, and then just always go back natural because it looks better with my bronze skin. You can't really "make" yourself feel better, you just have to grow and learn from yourself. I'm sorry you don't love yourself for who you are, but if you really want to be white, blond hair and blue eyes, then dye your hair, get colored contacts and bleach your skin like Michael Jackson. It is all from the media. Also, the KKK often signified that as beautiful (Hitler pushed for that image). Bunch of subliminal messages have entered your head about this kind of beauty. i like being blond and blue eyed because no one else is (it isn't generic) but I think that brown hair can be really beautiful too! tan skin is in now too, and you sound very pretty so don't doubt yourself! just because more people have your colouring doesn't mean its less beautiful!

look in the mirror everyday and tell yourself what an amazing person you are. it doesn't make you conceited, but it will help your confidence.

sweetie, Hitler is dead, there is no need to fill the earth with blonde hair and blue eyed people. brunettes and red heads and any other colored heads, are beautiful. im proud to be a brunette, there has always been the saying that brunettes are just as hot as blondes only smarter. if u really dont like the way u look, u can always dye ur hair blonde and wear blue contacts..but i suggest staying urself, be proud to be a brunette, especially if people have asked u to be a model, then ur beautiful!!

i have blond hair and blue eyes, i think im okay. but it doesnt matter what color skin, eyes, or hair you have. its from the inside and how your whole complexction matches up with all your features. Don't try to be something you are not. Learn how to be happy with yourself. I used to be sort of insecure about my look, but I have grown to appreciate it. You should value yourself more. Some people wish they could at least be pretty. I used to be a little insecure about my looks but then, I noticed that some people wish they were in my situation. Everyone is pretty in their own way. I've seen plenty of unattractive blue eyed blondes. Besides I find that when someone alters their appearance strictly because they don't like their own looks, it never looks right because they always go to the extreme.

You look the way you do because the genetics of generations of your family members combined to make you look the way you do...you may have your great grandfather's eyes, your great great grandmother's hair....each of us is a walking testament to our own family history...I think that's something to be pretty proud of.

As far as the Barbie Doll...I think most girls like that ideal because the people who make Barbie Dolls drummed it into their heads that that was what they're supposed to want to look like through marketing.

I've seen cases with African American kids who didn't want black dolls when they finally came out with them because marketing told them that the caucasian blue eyed blonde doll was what they should want. My own nieces were victim to that marketing when they were little.
