Jesus Christ actually has dark brown hair and brown eyes. But he wears blue contacts. He also shaved his beard and mustache in the late '80s but is currently growing it back because he want's to come back as "people think he is supposed to look". So he's growing a beard and mustache and long hair again because he's coming back soon and doesn't want to confuse anyone.

Actually, I've seen many pictures of a caucasion Jesus with brown hair and blue eyes, but never with blond hair.

There is nothing wrong, in art, with painting Jesus and the saints as members of one's own culture. It may help people see them as human beings, and relate to them better.
